Why Vila Epicurea?
Vila Epicurea is an eco-lodge and boutique retreat focused on slow living. It offers an intimate, home-like atmosphere to reconnect with nature and yourself. There is no 24-hour reception or standard hotel lobby to preserve a peaceful, independent experience.
What activities can I enjoy during my stay?
Guests can enjoy guided yoga, forest therapies, workshops, and curated wellness programs designed to nourish both body and mind.
We’re dreaming of organizing a Yoga Retreat—how can we partner with you?
The lodge welcomes retreat collaborations. The Yoga Dome is designed for group energy and mindfulness. For retreat bookings and facilities, guests should contact the team directly via email.
Can we host a special celebration or party?
The property is maintained as a quiet sanctuary, so parties are not hosted. However, small celebrations or surprises can be arranged upon request to keep the peaceful atmosphere intact.
Are drones allowed on the property?
Drones are not allowed in order to protect guest privacy and local wildlife in the Serra d’Arrábida region.
How can I get around the area, and what is there to see nearby?
A car is recommended for exploring the wider region. Bicycles are also available for nearby exploration. The surrounding Arrábida area offers many natural attractions.
Can we stay without a car?
It is possible but requires planning. The property is remote, with no shops within walking distance. Taxis or transfers are recommended. Some beaches and restaurants are reachable on foot within 35–40 minutes.
How does check-in work?
Guests are asked to share arrival time in advance via WhatsApp. Late check-ins may incur an additional fee. Self check-in may be available for tiny houses upon request.
Is the property wheelchair accessible?
The terrain is natural, uneven, and includes stairs, making it unsuitable for wheelchair access.
Do you have parking and EV charging?
Free parking is available for guests, along with an electric car charger (not compatible with Tesla vehicles).
What is your dining concept?
The lodge offers a surprise menu based on seasonal ingredients rather than a fixed menu. Special dinners are available on request, and pre-booking is required.
We have dietary restrictions. Can you accommodate us?
Yes, dietary needs such as vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free options can be accommodated with advance notice.
Can we use the kitchen and do you have a bar?
Guests may use the shared kitchen. An honesty bar is available in the main house for self-service drinks.
Where can we store our food?
Guests in rooms have access to a shared fridge shelf, while tiny houses include a private refrigerator.
Are you kid-friendly?
Yes, families are welcome. Tiny houses are recommended for convenience, and baby cots and high chairs are available on request.
Can we walk to the beach?
Yes, beaches such as Praia das Bicas and Praia da Foz are 35–45 minutes away on foot, while Praia do Meco is about an hour’s walk.
Can guests use the Yoga Dome?
The Yoga Dome is available for personal practice. Guided sessions can be arranged with an instructor upon request.
Can I visit for the day?
During low season, day guests can book sauna sessions with pool access and optionally add massage or lunch experiences.
Do you provide towels and amenities?
Towels are provided for rooms and pool use. Eco-friendly toiletries are available. Guests should bring their own beach towels.
How often is the room cleaned?
Rooms and units are refreshed every two days to balance comfort and environmental impact.
Is the pool heated and is it private?
The pool is shared among guests and is not heated, in line with eco-friendly practices.
Do you have Wi-Fi and TV?
Wi-Fi is available only in communal areas. Tiny houses are designed without technology, and there is no TV on the property.
Are pets allowed?
Small to medium friendly pets are allowed only in tiny houses for an additional daily fee. Certain aggressive breeds are not accepted.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes, gift vouchers are available for stays, experiences, or custom amounts. They are valid for one year and can be personalized.
